• Village of Flanagan
    Meeting Minutes October 20, 2015
    Mayor R. Jerome Rocke called the meeting to order with all reciting the
    Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call was answered by Bev Friese, Jason Montello,
    Dennis Carls, Al Hulse. David Iverson and Brian Boldt were absent.
    On a motion by Dennis, seconded by Al, the minutes of the September 15,
    2015 meeting were approved with corrections. On a motion by Bev,
    seconded by Jason, the minutes of the Executive Meeting of August 15, 2015
    were approved.
    On a motion by Al, seconded by Dennis the treasurer’s report was approved
    on a 4 yes, 0 no, 2 absent vote. July Sales Tax = $3,510.82. No Motor Fuel
    Tax at this time.
    On a motion by Bev, seconded by Jason, the bills were approved for payment
    on a 4 yes, 0 no, 2 absent vote.
    Police report showed 11 calls, 0 citations 1 warning.
    No comments from persons present.
    Employee’s report included: 18 meters installed; attendance at Lodus (?)
    training; winterizing park’s bathrooms after 10/31; welcome sign is together;
    rock has been put in various places.
    Tiling (McKinley-Ecko@ & 400 to 1800 project) has been tabled until new
    contracts can be written.
    Jensen Estates Update: Carla came and reviewed the Punch List: signs not
    done; not necessary to camera the tile, but Martin/Cooper would have to pay
    for repairs; VoF should pay for tile by retention basin. Martin/Cooper
    purchase signs, we install. Suggestion was to hire Haer to vacuum-test the
    manholes, Martin/Cooper to pay for any repairs. On a motion by Bev,
    seconded by Dennis this motion was passed on a 4 yes, 0 no, 2 absent vote.
    $175.39 was paid to Caleb for phone until Jeremy cancels his phone, then
    transferred to Village plan.
    On a motion by Bev, second by Jason it was agreed to hire Sonic Print to
    conduct a multiple mailing to all Flanagan residents to aid us in updating our
    database with the intention of receiving water/garbage payments in a timely
    manner. Passed on a 4 yes, 0 no 2 absent vote.
  • IRWA-GPS & GPI Mapping Bid update: As members of IRWA, we can use their
    services for this project, and only pay for the worker’s mileage from Gibson
    City. We would need to complete some prep work before the project began.
    The mapping will take approximately 9 days, after which we will receive the
    computer software and 2 large maps. On a motion by Dennis, seconded by
    Al it was agreed to begin this project on a 4 yes, 0 no, 2 absent vote.
    Allan Rients indicated he may be able to work on the Maintenance building
    roof by Thanksgiving.
    Barney Hulse is busy, but is sure he can take care of the burn pit clean-up.
    Water Sales/Repairs needed – switch/celluloid on the water pump at Artesian
    Park needs repaired-ball valve is out and piping needs to be raised up to
    support the line. The board asked the boys to begin keeping record of
    money received from people who buy water from VoF.
    Adam Donze from the Greater Livingston County Economic Development
    Council would like to attend the November meeting.
    The Trucks and Toys shop has a new owner.
    On a motion by Jason, seconded by Al, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30
    p.m.
