Meeting Minutes July 2015

 

Mayor R. Jerome Rocke called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with all present reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.  Roll Call was answered by Jason Montello, David Iverson, Dennis Carls (arrived after roll call), Al Hule, Brian Boldt. Bev Frese was absent.

 

Numerous citizens and employees of the Park District were on hand to celebrate, congratulate and present awards to 4 of the Pool Life Guards who rescued a drowning victim at the pool on May 26, 2015.  OSF EMS Coordinator Tanya Johnson , the Health Care Provider-Life Saving Efforts was on hand to present the Save Award to Jessica Schneider, Lindsey Carson, Makila Schneider and Tyler Tuftie.

 

On a motion by Dave, second by Brian minutes of the June meeting were approved.

 

On a motion by Al, second by Jason the Treasurer’s report was approved.  April Sales Tax = $3684.97.  June Motor Fuel Tax = $1573.30.

 

On a motion by Brian, second by Dave the bills were approved for payment on a 4 yes, 0 no, 2 absent vote.

 

Police report showed 16 calls, 1 accident, 10 thefts 5 tickets, 2 golf carts, 9 warnings.  Zack Benning, a new officer, was introduced was introduced to the Board.  It was noted that someone in the country has donated a golf cart for a one day use during Flanagan Fest and consensus was to provide a one-day sticker pass.

 

Stacy Nutgrass from Razors & Rodz Hair and Nail Salon asked for permission to host a car wash fund-raiser at Legion Lake for her daughter’s dance class who is raising money to go to Disney World.  Date of Car Wash to be determined.  Board gave approval.

 

Jeremy’s report included:  Thank you to Bd for wedding gift; water tower cleaned out; Legion Lake work done; new roof on park pavilion; falling down insulation has been fixed ($2500 north shed); vacant houses-garbage fees for 454 residences discussed.  Enbridge wants to park their trucks overnight on our property. Gravel for property owners $25 per end-loader shovel.

 

Other Items:  Caleb has resigned; send thank you for his wedding gift

Chatsworth indicated they have a free service for electronics pick-up

 

Flanagan Fest progressing well; port-a-potties to be delivered Thursday; Fishing Derby at 10 am.

 

3 liens were filed last week at the Court House

Re:  1991 Duetz-Allis Tractor Value:  tires are shot (cost to replace $1200 per tire) item tabled.

 

Re:  Pantagraph ad to Water/Sewer application resulted in 2 resumes received; advised Mayor Rocke to check into cost of reposting add again on job-seeking websites and have due date by 8/4 and interview date 8/10 about 8 pm.

 

On a motion by Dennis, second by David the board approved the Appropriation Ordinance 15-01 for $1,376,450.

 

On a motion by Jason, second by Brian, the board approved the Prevailing Wage Ordinance 15-02.

 

Sidewalk repair-On a motion by Brian, second by Jason, the Board approved Jeremy to get bid on the most safety hazards.

 

Miscellaneous Business:  On a motion by Brian, seconded by Dennis, the board approved a 50 cent raise for both Joe and Jeremy to $18.80 per hour.

 

On a motion by Jason, second by David, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
