Village of Flanagan
Board Minutes January 20, 2015
Mayor R Jerome Rocke called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was answered by Bev Friese, Jason Montello, David Iverson, Dennis Carls, Al Hulse, Brian Boldt.
On a motion by Dennis, seconded by Al, minutes of the December 2014 meeting were approved.
On a motion by Jason, seconded by David, the Treasurer’s report was approved. October Sales Tax = $4,015.66. December Motor Fuel Tax = $2,795.24.
On a motion by Bev, seconded by Brian the bills were approved for payment on a 6 yes, 0 no vote.
Sgt. Mitchell introduced Lexi Gutman from ISU who is serving an internship with the Sheriff’s department and is observing the meeting. He reported 19 calls, 2 citations and 2 warnings. The Community Sale is March 21st from 7 am-3 pm and we asked for coverage.
Jeremy’s report included: waiting on insurance company to get back to us about the lift station; drainage at Lincoln/Monroe always has water; Jefferson drainage still a concern; well at park =new transformers installed; leaking roof on shed needs 2 quotes for repairs.
Jodi Willis, Kara Delheimer, John and Kathy Shinkey are members of the Flanagan Fest committee who were asking for any information we can provide to help them with the various activities. Bev and Brian indicated they would help the committee. There is still money designated in a Flanagan Fest budget they can use as seed money, but they will need to begin fund-raising to increase it. They asked about a 50/50 but were advised they would need to have a definite outline as to the number of organizations in the community who would receive money and the percentage of the money to be given.
Purchase of office equipment is in process. Discussed need to trade in 1 dump truck and 1 tractor for a new tractor to do the most jobs; no committee reports; in process of getting quotes for sewer lining projects for 2015.
On a motion by Al, seconded by Bev, meeting was adjourned at 8:08 pm.
